Emily Bett Rickards (born July 24, 1992) is a Canadian actress. She has portrayed Felicity as Felicity in The CW Television Series Arrow. Rickards was born and raised within British Columbia. She began her acting career in the early years of her life by taking classes in dance, musical theatre as well as other types of entertainment. Her path in career development began at an early age after she completed high school, and then attended the Vancouver Film School. There she was enrolled in the Acting Essentials course. After the course was completed, she attended an audition open to the public that led to her being offered an agent. Alida Vocal Studio taught her. The chemistry she shared between her and Stephen Amell, positive feedback from the fans, and the sarcastic comments she made led to an initial signing for one episode as a Guest Star. However, due to the overwhelmingly positive response of her fans the actress was later signed on as a Regular Character for Season 2.
